A new library system for the University of Bradford

The University Librarian, Peter Ketley, has announced that Innovative Interfaces has been selected to provide the University of Bradford with a new library management system: “Millenium”. Millenium was the unanimous first choice of both Library staff and of those users who trialled the four competing public access modules at the end of last year.

Millenium ,through its public access catalogue Encore, will offer enhanced searching capabilities, such as ‘Did you mean . . .?’ and simultaneous searching of databases other than the Library Catalogue such as our repository Bradford Scholars and many other web- based services.

In addition to offering acquisitions, cataloguing and circulations modules Millenium will also handle the Library’s inter-library loan operation and the archival collections through a digital repository.

Millenium is due to go live at the University of Bradford in August 2009.
